A roguelite shoot-em-up with traces of Spelunky in there. Pretty heavy on the 8-bit theme if you're into that. There is persistent progression. However, characters lose all stats upon death.

A good alternative to Minecraft, that mixes in a few lite RPG elements. Exploration takes you through a series of portals that lead to micro-biomes, that resemble small islands floating in the sky.

Like Magicka, it's a top down RPG in which you create your own spells to solve puzzles and complete combat challenges. Overall a much needed fresh take on the top down action RPG genre.

A Tactical RPG with a pseudo anime theme. The game offers a story-line with plenty of humor, and a large cast of characters control. If you're a fan of Disgaea, definitely pick this one up.

An abstract twin-stick shooter, in which you fly around in a tiny little ship and blow up enemies while trying to navigate through maze like levels. It doesn't push any new boundaries, however.

Twin Stick Shooter Roguelites are the bog standard these days, but they're still pretty good if you're into that sort of thing. Pixel art, explosions, if you love Nuclear Throne, you'll love this too.

It takes the current mantra of modernizing old arcade games by cramming as much color and insanity (And EXPLOSIONS) into the game as possible. In this case, Missile Command gets the HD treatment.

Think Star Fox but less furries and more '80s vapor-wave. The game offers a fast paced experience with cool '80s techno tunes. Also: Procedurally generated levels. What more do you need?
