Sidescrolling XCOM except the skill is in how you aim and ricochet your bullets and not dependent on RNG. RPG mechanics and good music included!

Metroidvania plus enemy possession plus polish equals a damned fun game if you want that classic platformy, shooty, level-uppy feel.

Not everyone knows this exists so it belongs here. If you never played a typing of hte dead game and are good at typing, probably get this!

This is a nice relaxing game to play when you wanna just pass some time and listen to a podcast. For some reason, people love watching it streamed too!

Despite being released in late 2011, this entry in the Anno series still manages to out-stylize and out-render most games put out today. Aesthetics++.

Take Dark Souls, mix in Metroid, give it a pinch of procedurally generated dungeons and you've got Chasm in a nutshell.

Another "not often talked of" 2D roguelike, this game is like Spelunky with a more fleshed out RPG system and greater emphasis on combat.

I don't know anyone else who plays it but if you like rogue-like dungeon crawling, this stylistic approach is an attractive buy.

"Why the hell is this game here?" Because believe it or not, it actually got good. Latency issues, problematic bugs, boredom... all of it's been fixed!
