“We have a lot of new going on here on here : new camera record tool, a backend that automates 360 video creation etc. We are releasing Soldiers of Heaven on early access so that we can get user feedback to help iterate the design of our camera tools and to add features that are requested by the community.”

“We anticipate having this on early access until March 2017.”

“We have added the ability to export footage shot with the camera from Steam and available to edit into your own 360 video.

In addition we are expanding the camera tools to include manual focus pulling and crane/dolly moves - we intend to add a steam workshop feature so that users can add their own content to make their own movies with the camera tools.”

Bagaimanakah keadaan semasa versi Akses Awal?

“We have the camera tools working with 3 lense choices and we have the "Soldiers of Heaven" battle scene that you can film. We have a manual process to convert the footage that you shoot into a 360 video and we are working on the automating the process.”

Adakah harga permainan ini berbeza semasa dan selepas Akses Awal?

“We plan to add options/features for processing the 360 video footage that you shoot and we pan to use in app purchasing for priority rendering and resolution.”

***THE DEVELOPERS ARE REMOVING THIS GAME FROM STEAM***

You are an embedded journalist travelling with a small US Army special forces team as they battle "The Soldiers of Heaven" - a religious cult in Iraq that tried to start a Muslim Armageddon during the Ashura festival.

This battle with the SOH ended with over 300 deaths : men, women and children. This project is based on a true story that was covered up... and now you have a chance to try and find the truth.

Armed with a virtual camera you will film your own version of the story as it unfolds in an immersive 3D world. In this build you can watch a preview in game.

This immersive journalism experience combines live action with 3D animation. It is being built with the Unreal 4 game engine.

What makes this experience unique, useful or innovative:

Virtual reality offers film makers an opportunity to step into their story world and get a 360 degree real time perspective of the world they are trying to bring to life. This is ideal for previsualization and production planning as the film maker can leverage the presence that VR offers and look for new shots and camera angles as they walk around their virtual set. What is missing is a virtual camera that the film maker can use to shoot.

We also think that filming in VR could be a new way to create animated films.
